Welsh Lawn Bowls is the sole Governing Body for Outdoor Flat Green Bowls in Wales.

ASSISTANT SECRETARIES’ ROLES X 2

JOB TITLE.

Assistant Secretary 2 posts.

Job Summary:

To assist the Secretary and Management Committee in overseeing and day to day running of Welsh Lawn Bowls.

ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

• To assist the Secretary with the preparation and delivery of documentation for meetings of Welsh Lawn Bowls.
• To take minutes of Welsh Lawn Bowls Meetings and type them up after each meeting.
• Assist with the arrangement and running of the Presidents Representative Matches.
• Assist in the preparation of the Calendar of Events.
• Keep the Welsh Lawn Bowls Website up to date where appropriate.
• Undertake any duties delegated to them by the Secretary or Executive Committee.
• Assist in the annual review of Welsh Lawn Bowls policy documents, such as the constitution and safeguarding documents.
• Undertake any other such duties that might reasonably be requested of them by the Secretary or Management Committee.
• To organise all National and International tournaments and events.

SKILLS:

• A least three years’ experience as a Club or County Secretary.
• Well organised with good administration skills
• A proven track record of delivering work schedules on time.
• Experience at supporting a National Secretary.
• Knowledge and understanding of outdoor bowls in Wales.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good IT skills.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• You must be motivated.
• Must have the ability to remain discrete.
• Must be always calm and diplomatic.
• Must have the ability to work as part of a team and foster good working relationships.
• Have good attention to detail.
• Be willing to have a full DBS check.
• Have good time management skills, be able to plan and regulate the workload including the ability to prioritise demands and work under pressure.
• Have a friendly can-do attitude.
• Have a commitment to the aims and vision of Welsh Lawn Bowls. Display no prejudice whilst working with colleagues or outside agencies.
